ABOUT THE ARTIST
Oswald "Ozzie" Di Sciullo biography

First interest was noted by his art teacher in elementary school and again recognized in high school. Though direction was given to pursue further studies in art, economically the times did not warrant such pursuits. Essentially, he regards himself as a self-taught artist.

Working in the local pharmacy after school hours created a new interest. Ozzie attended Fordham University College of Pharmacy and upon completion worked as a pharmacist and later moved to Pottsville, PA in 1960.

It was at this time that he became a member of the Allied Artists of Schuylkill County and entered several paintings in their shows. As a result, he received several commissions from individuals and establishments there. He also has paintings in several private collections in New York, New Jersey, North & South Carolina, Florida and California as well as Pennsylvania.

Ozzie and his wife, Elizabeth, now reside in Chesterbrook,Tredyffrin Township, PA.. He continued working until 1999, retiring to pursue his much neglected love of art. Having previously worked only with oils, he decided to work with acrylics and created many works. He joined the Delaware Valley Art League in 2004. He has served on the Board of Directors as Directory Advertising chairman.

He also decided in 2004 he wanted more depth to his work and joined the Wayne Art Center. There he had courses taught by Lesley Shekitka and later, in consecutive semesters taught by Giovanni Casadei, Michael Doyle, Jon Redmond and Bonnie Mettler, whose classes he  enrolled in to receive critical coaching and development.
